The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance, or AREA, announced last week it has partnered with the local commercial real estate firm SVN Walt Arnold Commercial Brokerage Inc. to “clarify the collaborative roles played by each party in attracting firms to the Albuquerque region,” according to a news release. The two recently signed a memorandum of understanding.

“This new approach to regionalism, transparency and leveraging AREA’s expertise to support all partners in attracting and growing firms is gaining real traction and has been an impactful part of our ability to deliver quickly on all client inquiries and bring value to our local partners,” said AREA President and CEO Danielle Casey.

The agreement comes as AREA and other private and public officials have worked to bring big players to the Albuquerque region. That includes, most recently, aiding in the expansions of Ebon Solar and Maxeon Solar Technologies, two solar manufacturers looking to build facilities at Mesa del Sol.

For AREA, the agreement with SVN brings its total memorandum of understanding partners to seven. Others include Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group, CBRE, Colliers, Johnson Commercial Real Estate, NAI SunVista and the Commercial Association of Realtors of New Mexico.

AREA officials said the agreement with SVN, which has been in operation in Albuquerque for 37 years, will allow the economic development organization to provide the company with access to research, data and public relations support. Both entities will also identify areas of collaboration on cross-promotional events and marketing campaigns to promote the area.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance,” said Walt Arnold, managing director at SVN. “This collaboration enhances our ability to attract and support businesses in the region, leveraging AREA’s resources to drive economic growth and investment opportunities, which will better our communities for generations.”
