Albuquerque Kohl’s stores to integrate Sephora makeup shops

Albuquerque Kohl’s shoppers will soon be able to pick up clothing and makeup in one stop.
Kohl’s officials told the Journal that the city’s two locations, at 6800 Holly NE and 3715 Ellison NW on the West Side, will soon have integrated Sephora stores.
The two locations join more than 100 Kohl’s stores across 39 states implementing Sephora shops, a retailer focused on beauty and personal care products, including makeup, fragrances and hair products.
The Sephora shops are “small-format,” the email announcement said.
Employees on Friday were setting up the Sephora space at the Holly location, as shoppers Jessey Cherne, 35, and her daughter, Sophia Cherne-Durkin, 6, expressed their excitement about the addition.
“I think it’s awesome. I want them to stay in business, so I think it should help,” Cherne said, adding she was “so sad” to see the Kohl’s at the Coronado Center close in 2023.
“When we would go to the Coronado location, when it was open, we would go to Sephora and park at Kohl’s, so it’s kind of funny that they’re together,” Cherne said.
When asked if she shops at Sephora often, her daughter quickly chimed in to say, “Oh yeah! We always go there. We love makeup.”
The Holly location’s Sephora at Kohl’s is expected to open on Friday, and the Ellison location on April 11, though the timing is subject to change, the spokesperson said.
