Are you a South Valley business owner looking to up your online presence for free? A young adult seeking paid marketing job experience this summer? A Valencia County job program is looking to match these two personalities up.
Career Connections, an internship program, is accepting applications from youth and businesses located in Valencia County and Albuquerque’s South Valley. The program aims to connect “digitally-minded youth” with small businesses in need of marketing and social media support, according to a news release.
Intern wages are paid by the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, and Meta’s Los Lunas Data Center is funding the program.
This is the second year the program has run in Valencia County, expanding this year to include young adults from the South Valley.
“This is a win-win for the community,” said Laurene Rodriguez, Career Connections program manager, in a news release. “Youth gain valuable real-world experience in digital marketing, while small businesses get a fresh perspective and professional-level support, all funded through public-private collaboration.”
Young adults 16-24 years old can apply. Interns will make $15.90 an hour and work up to 400 paid hours.
The deadline to apply is May 11. The internships will run from June 9 to Aug. 2.
