FRIDAY: It was the first game of the regular season for the Isotopes and 2026 got off to a very nice start with Albuquerque (1-0) taking a 3-1 road victory over Oklahoma City (0-1).

It was by no means a perfect performance. The Isotopes were credited with three errors, relief pitcher Carson Palmquist hit a batter — Comets’ catcher Seby Zavala — and Sterlin Thompson and Palmquist were both called for pitch-clock violations. But starting pitcher Tanner Gordon was the star of the night. He notched a full five innings of work, tallying five strikeouts while allowing two walks and three hits. He was credited with the win.

NEXT HOME GAME: The Isotopes home opener is Tuesday, when the Reno Aces will be coming to town for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.
