City will pause permit applications, inspections for 2 weeks
The city’s planning department will pause two public portal software systems used for permit applications and payments for two weeks starting Thursday.
The software systems POSSE and AVOLVE will be paused starting 5 p.m. on Jan. 16 and users “will not be able to apply for permits or schedule new inspections” until Jan 28, according to the city.
The announcement comes while the city is looking to update to a new software system called Albuquerque’s Planning Logistics and Networking, or ABQ-PLAN.
The new system will be a “user-friendly public portal and dashboard that allows users to manage individual projects, submit plans, schedule inspections, pay fees ... and streamline online applications and payments,” according to a news release.
The new software will feature a geographic information system, a public-facing interactive map and a dashboard that shows all applicants the current status of all of their projects according to Timothy Walsh, spokesperson for the city’s planning department.
Customer service will be available at the Plaza del Sol building in the meantime, and there will also be online tutorials and guides, and public training sessions.
