First New Mexico Crocs store to debut at Coronado Center this month
Prepare to put your Crocs in sports mode and run to Coronado Center because a new Crocs store will open soon.
The Colorado-based shoe brand known for its casual, clog-style shoes is expanding its presence in Albuquerque with a new store set to open in Uptown’s Coronado Center by the end of May, a Crocs spokesperson confirmed to the Journal on Tuesday. The store will be the brand’s first brick-and-mortar store in Albuquerque and New Mexico.
The spokesperson said Albuquerque’s “attractive market” prompted the move.
The Albuquerque store, situated on the Coronado Center’s bottom floor across from JCPenney and between GDE Vintage and Maurices, will carry adult and kids products. Crocs come in a variety of colors and can be accessorized using charms called “Jibbitz,” also to be offered at the store.
While Crocs products can be found in 21 stores across Albuquerque, according to its website, the spokesperson said the Coronado store will allow consumers to fully experience the brand in person, including its “come as you are” mantra, which invites customers to embrace comfort and exercise self-expression by personalizing their shoes.
The 3,000-square-foot store is expected to employ up to 15 people and is currently hiring.
The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
