Not many New Mexico homes have a nail salon, a gym and a 600-bottle wine cellar, but 211 Camino del Norte does.

Located within the foothills north of Santa Fe, the 18,000-square-foot compound spans 3.7 acres and encompasses a roughly 7,000-square-foot main house and three additional casitas. The compound is on the market for $12 million.

“A lot of people say their properties are special; this one is truly like nothing else in the state,” said Jake Lyon, a third-generation Realtor and assistant broker for The Lyon Group, the real estate agency with Sotheby’s International Realty overseeing the listing.

“It’s like owning a personal resort,” he added.

The compound was listed by The Lyon Group in February.

This isn’t the property’s first time on the market. It was also listed in 2022 under the same owner for $28 million. Lyon said the property’s price dropped to $17 million before it was pulled off the market for unknown reasons.

Lyon said the uniqueness of the property adds to the time it takes to find the right owner.

Lyon declined to name the owner of the property, adding they prefer to maintain their privacy. The Santa Fe County Assessor’s website shows that the property’s owner is Belvedere Management Trust.

Prior to the current owner, Lyon said the property was occupied by the late American sculptor Glenna Goodacre, known for creating the Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The property has received a major upgrade since Goodacre last owned it more than a decade ago.

“Everything has been totally reimagined and redone,” Lyon said. “This is kind of a vision of the owner. ... Everything is just so well-thought-out and put together and just of the highest quality.”

Built in 1946, the property today has a total of 14 bedrooms, five of which are in the main house, the listing reports. The compound also has a three-car garage and three kitchens, as well as 15 full and 10 partial bathrooms. The property mixes luxurious finishes with a traditional Puebloan style and is filled with fireplaces galore.

The landscaped exterior features a pool, lawn, pavilion, heated walkways, water stream and fountain, wood burning fireplaces, multiple seating areas and a grand portal that can host over 100 people, according to the listing.

The casitas include game rooms, offices, a gym, ski and gear lockers, a spa and nail salon, a massage room and a sauna.

The property is “full of wow moments,” Lyon said, but what makes it a rare find is its privacy and proximity to Santa Fe.

“It’s a five-minute drive to the plaza... but it sits on this hill,” Lyon said. “It’s pretty unique to be totally secluded, totally a self-contained compound that’s really in the heart of Santa Fe.”

Lyon said the property has received interest from local and international buyers but has primarily attracted folks from Santa Fe’s three “feeder” markets: Texas, Colorado and California. Lyon said the group feels optimistic about the property selling in the next few months.
