New Oxbow Center on Albuquerque’s West Side to include Raising Cane’s
If you’ve driven by the corner of Coors and St. Josephs NW lately, you’ve likely seen large piles of dirt signaling something new coming to the site.
A Commercial Association of Realtors New Mexico listing shows that those piles of dirt will lay the foundation for a new Raising Cane’s.
The chicken chain is building a 2,980-square-foot restaurant on a corner lot near the intersection, the listing shows. The restaurant went under construction in August and is expected to open in the spring of 2026, a spokesperson for Raising Cane’s wrote in an email.
The restaurant will be Raising Cane’s first West Side location, expanding the chicken chain’s footprint in Albuquerque to four locations and six in New Mexico overall, according to the chain’s website.
“We’re always looking for vibrant communities where we can make a meaningful impact and continuing our growth into western Albuquerque fits that description perfectly,” the spokesperson said.
The chicken chain will join a lineup of new restaurants and retail popping up at Oxbow Center, a new development emerging on Albuquerque’s West Side near St. Pius X High School.
A 7 Brew recently became the first business to open on the site and an Olive Garden, Sunward Federal Credit Union, a sit-down Mexican concept and a new-to-market burger concept will follow, according to the CARNM listing.
The Raising Cane’s property, set to be leased by the chain for a term of 15 years, is available for $4.1 million, the listing said. The listing, represented by Brett Hills with NAI SunVista, characterized the availability as a “premier long-term investment” opportunity in “the fastest growing sector of the city.”
