Pitching in! PNM offering assistance with electricity payments
PNM offering assistance with electricity payments
As the heatwave continues, PNM is offering financial assistance to low-income customers to prevent their electricity from being shut off due to overdue payments. The PNM Good Neighbor Fund provides up to $370 of credit per year to applicable customers, according to a PNM press release.
“The PNM Good Neighbor Fund is a vital tool for those who may be struggling to manage their energy bills, especially during the summer when energy usage is at its highest,” said Ebony Vizcaino, PNM’s low-income program manager. “Since the use of air conditioners can be up to 50 percent of a customer’s electric bill, by accessing this financial assistance, customers can focus on keeping their homes comfortable with less financial worry.”
To qualify for the program customers cannot make more than the maximum monthly income for their household’s size. For example, a household of one cannot have a monthly income greater than $1,699. For information on how to apply for the program, visit PNM’s website.
