Rio Grande Credit Union Golf Classic Returning in September, Seeking Sponsors
Rio Grande Credit Union announces the return of its annual RGCU Golf Classic on September 22 at Sandia Golf Club and Event Center. Following last year’s record-breaking fundraising of $35,000, this year’s event will once again benefit the Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC) in its mission to empower survivors of abuse. The tournament will include a four-person scramble, lunch, raffle, and awards reception.
“We’re excited to bring our golf tournament back for what we hope is another record-breaking year,” said Rio Grande Credit Union’s President/CEO Mike Athens. “We’re honored to continue our partnership with the DVRC in supporting their important mission and we look forward to seeing everyone in the community come out, support the DVRC and have a great time golfing!”
In addition to supporting the DVRC through the Golf Tournament, RGCU supports the organization through its CU Safe Program—offering unsecured loans to domestic violence victims referred by DVRC.
“We are grateful for Rio Grande Credit Union’s continued support,” said Kristin Middleton, DVRC Executive Director. “By partnering with RGCU, we’re able to make a lasting difference in the lives of domestic violence victims who are working to rebuild their lives. We hope all will come out to Sandia and enjoy a day of golf for a good cause this September!”
