Rio Rancho Market Street to host hiring fair this week
A new Market Street is slated to open in late April at Unser Boulevard across from Presbyterian’s Rust Medical Center. United Supermarkets, which owns the store, is hosting a hiring fair this week.
United Supermarkets, a subsidiary of Albertsons Cos., is hosting a hiring fair Thursday through Saturday in Rio Rancho for the company’s new Market Street location.
The hiring event will take place at the Vision City Church’s event center at 1016 Rosarito SE, according to a news release from the company. The event will take place 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A spokesperson for United said the company looks to hire some 300 sackers, checkers, e-commerce fulfillment workers, stockers and other department positions, like bakery and floral.
The 80,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late April on Unser Boulevard across from Presbyterian’s Rust Medical Center, according to the Rio Rancho Observer.
While Albertsons Cos. and United manage dozens of Albertsons locations across New Mexico, this will be only the second Market Street in the state. A multi-million dollar upgrade changed an Albertsons Market in Santa Fe to Market Street in 2018, according to the online news outlet Grocery Dive.
The Rio Rancho location is the first ground-up Market Street in the state.
