OpenTable has released its annual list of the top 100 restaurants in America, and Geronimo, a restaurant in Santa Fe, has made the cut.
Unlike most lists, which are decided by critics, this one is driven by users. The rankings are based on more than 14 million verified OpenTable diner reviews and dining metrics. To be considered, restaurants had to meet a minimum threshold of diner reviews.
Restaurants were evaluated using a combination of unique data points, including diner ratings, the percentage of five-star reviews, the number of alerts set, the percentage of reservations made in advance, percentage of capacity and direct searches. These metrics were weighted to create an overall score used to rank the list.
Geronimo was recognized by OpenTable as the Best Overall Restaurant in New Mexico, Best Food in New Mexico and Best Service in New Mexico. With over 12,000 user ratings and reviews, the restaurant boasts a 4.9-star rating.
Popular dishes highlighted in reviews include the grilled beef tenderloin, wild mushroom and cherry bisque and wasabi Caesar salad.
The full menu has also earned Geronimo the distinction of being New Mexico's only Mobil Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond-rated restaurant.
