Eddy County Sheriff's Office Deputies are working to clear an acid spill on State Road 31 near Carlsbad, according to our media partners at KOAT7.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation has closed access to NM 31 (Potash Mines) at the intersection of US 62/180 and at NM 128.

Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and watch out for emergency personnel and equipment in the area.
