The New Mexico Caregivers Coalition has announced a respite care provider training program free for everyone, according to a news release.

The training "teaches basic skills needed to work with New Mexicans who are elderly and those with disabilities," the releases said.

The free training is a self-paced online program that covers the skills needed to become a paid, or volunteer, respite care provider in New Mexico.

Upon completion, the participant will receive a seven-hour certificate of completion and can be added to the Respite Care Registry, where people can search for a respite care provider.
