Slumber party

Pull on your PJs because Blackout Theatre is holding “Slumberprov!” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11. The slumber party-themed show will include a mix of longform and short-form improvisation based on classic sleepover games. The event is youthfriendly, but parental discretion is advised for children under 15. Tickets are pay-whatyou-will with a suggested donation of $7, at blackouttheatre.com. Abstract ideas

The Albuquerque Abstract Artists Alliance is bringing its inaugural exhibition “Foray” to Fusion | 708 through Nov. 2. In conjunction with the exhibit, artist Bill Sabatini will be leading a free workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 15. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Artistic New Mexico

The 37th annual juried Old Church Fine Arts Show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 12. The show will feature works by 76 New Mexico artists, and 25% of sales are donated to maintenance and preservation of the church. The Old San Ysidro Church is located at 966 Old Church Road in Corrales.

Music from the Aloha State

The Masters of Hawaiian Music, George Kahumoku Jr., Daniel Ho and Tia Carrere, are playing two shows in New Mexico this weekend. You can find the trio at Fusion | 708, 708 First St. NW at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Then at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, they will play at San Miguel Chapel, 401 Old Santa Fe Trail in Santa Fe. Tickets start at $39 at ampconcerts.org.

Under the Harvest Moon

Grab your flashlight, the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden Heritage Farm is holding a Harvest Moon Tour at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7. The tours include urban legends and folklore stories that guests may find disturbing, and the event is an 18 and older event. Tours meet at the front of the Heritage Farm entrance and promptly start at 5:30 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets start at $10.87 at holdmyticket.com.
