Her story

Petroglyphs National Monument is hosting “Her Story: Honoring Native American Women” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in conjunction with Women’s History Month, which runs through March. Local vendors, Native American food truck Manko and organizations will be on hand. At 11 a.m. Dominique Pablito will speak about her journey as an Indigenous woman in STEM, and at noon the Anshe:kwe Dance Group will perform in the amphitheater. The event is free to attend. The monument is located at 6510 Western Trail NW.

Strings together

The Santa Fe Symphony presents “Gaelic,” a concert event with Sirena Huang and the Santa Fe Symphony Youth Orchestra, at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9. Tickets are $25-$99, plus fees, at santafesymphony.org. The Lensic Performing Arts Center is located at 211 W. San Francisco St., Santa Fe.

Art schools

The Albuquerque Public Schools Art is Elementary Exhibit runs through Saturday, March 15, at the APS Berna Facio Professional Development Complex, 3115 Louisiana Blvd. NE. The exhibit is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit features works created by APS students in grades K-5.

Piano man

Michael Tortorella will play piano barcarolles by Frederic Chopin, Gottfried Griffes and Richard Rodney Bennett, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 7. The TGIF concert event at First Presbyterian Church, 208 Grant Ave., Santa Fe, is free with donations accepted.

The stars of 2025

The Albuquerque Astronomical Society will be hosting a Star Party from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Open Space Visitor Center. The free event will feature a Fab Fifty Winter Sky presentation and a green laser constellation tour. Those arriving early to the visitor center, 6500 Coors Blvd. NW, can take a tour of the facility and grounds at 5 p.m.

Music of Ireland

Irish music group Altan is coming to the South Broadway Cultural Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12. Tickets are $28-$38 at artsandculture.cabq.gov. The cultural center is located at 1025 Broadway Blvd. SE.

Getting the season started

Outpost Performance Space is opening its 2025 Spring Season with a concert event featuring Doug Lawrence y sus Nuevos Mexicanos at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8. Then, the Gordy Johnson Quartet featuring Rob Wilkerson will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13. Tickets for both shows start at $15, plus fees, at outpostspace.org. Outpost Performance Space is located at 210 Yale Blvd. SE.
