AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE

Books on the Bosque is hosting two events this week.

Gency Brown will discuss her second novel, “Light in the Dark Forest,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

In the story, Ava Hardy wants more from life than her job as a newspaper reporter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. So she embarks on a sabbatical in the hills of eastern Oklahoma.

Ava finds new friends, a budding romance and solitude — and together they feed her creative spirit to write another book.

However, a murder disrupts her plans and she discovers hidden truths from her past.

Albuquerque author Melody Groves wrote this blurb about “Light in the Dark Forest”: “This hard-to-put-down novel speaks to anyone who’s ever needed a mental ‘reboot.’”

Brown, an Oklahoma native, lives in Rio Rancho.

Janet Roseman will talk about her new book, “The Eternal Bond: Daughters Honor Their Mothers on the Other Side,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

Roseman said she wanted to “empower women and those in grief as well as educate health care professionals about grief since death is usually a taboo topic.”

Roseman, a Santa Fe resident, is an associate professor of integrative medicine at Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, Nova Southeastern University.

Books on the Bosque is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.

AT COLLECTED WORKS

The Santa Fe bookstore is hosting “Once Upon a Fun Day! A Children and Young Readers Book-Palooza” from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

The event celebrates stories, music and imagination for youngsters. Families are invited to spend the day exploring books, enjoying live music and attending story time with guest readers in a literacy-filled outing.

Collected Works is located at 202 Galisteo St. in Santa Fe.
