Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter have built long careers as both recording artists and journeymen.

That’s not enough, though.

The two musicians are trying to make history with their “See It All American Tour” by going after the world record for the fastest time to play a concert in each of the 50 states. Currently, the record sits at 50 concerts in 50 days.

“We’re on show 26 and going strong,” Frankenreiter says.

“It’s going by quicker than we thought,” Allman chimes in. “Musically, we’re having a blast playing new material from the EP.”

Allman and Frankenreiter will bring their tour to Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery in Santa Fe on Monday, Sept. 18. The pair released the EP, “Rollers,” on June 23.

Allman and Frankenreiter seek to complete the challenge in 49 days.

The tour launched Aug. 5, when the pair played two shows – the first in Maryland and then in Pennsylvania.

The pair will perform a collaborative set with a four-piece backing band, will be joined nightly by rotating support acts: Matt Andersen, JD Simo, Matt Costa, Davy Knowles, Mishka, Jackson Stokes, and Goodnight, Texas.

Goodnight, Texas, will be the opener for the Santa Fe show.

“I’ve had this idea in my back pocket for the better part of a decade,” Allman says. “Fifty shows in the 50 United States in 50 days. I think growing up reading the ‘World Record’ books, it’s just always been a fantasy to go after a world record. This undertaking is going to be really difficult, but very rewarding, and I really found the perfect co-conspirator in Donavon Frankenreiter. We have been jamming together for years now and are quite simpatico. He is the perfect Evel to my Knievel.”

The pair are excited to be working together again on tour.

“There’s no better way to see it all but by playing all 50 states in under 50 days, and I couldn’t think of a better friend to do something this crazy with,” Frankenreiter says. “I first met Devon on the Allman Family Revival Tour, and we always talked about doing something together. One morning, Devon called me and said he had this crazy idea about breaking a world record. As soon as he said 50 shows in 50 states in under 50 days, I said, ‘Yes, let’s do this.’ And now, a year later, we are ready to see it all.”

Allman says the most fun is that the pair rehearsed for a couple days and then set on tour.

“The camaraderie that we have is beyond the best,” Allman says.

Frankenreiter says the pair decided that the entire EP would be played along with some songs from each of their catalogs.

“We trust our instincts more,” Frankenreiter says. “The new stuff is refreshing to perform. There’s an intent to all of this.”
