NY Premiere of Apple Original Films' 'Ghosted'

Actor Chris Evans will begin filming "Honey, Don't!" in and around Albuquerque through May.

Auditions were held a few weeks ago.

Now it’s official that Ethan Coen’s “Honey Don’t!” will begin filming in New Mexico.

On Wednesday, the New Mexico Film Office confirmed that the project will be filming in and around Albuquerque through May.

The project not only has a heavy hitter with its director, but the cast as well.

Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans are starring in the film.

The film tells the story of a detective investigating the death of a young woman and its connection to a mysterious church.

Coen is returning to New Mexico. He filmed “No Country for Old Men,” “O’ Brother Where Art Thou?,” “Burn After Reading,” “True Grit” and “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” in New Mexico.

Plaza filmed in New Mexico on the project “10 Years,” while Evans filmed “The Avengers” and “Ghosted” in the state.

It is produced by Cohen, Robert Graf, Tricia Cooke, Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan

“New Mexico holds a special place with the producers, and we're ecstatic to film our fifth feature here,” Graf stated.

According to Amber Dodson, New Mexico Film Office director, the project will employ over 600 New Mexicans – 150 crew members, 15 principal actors, and 450 background talent.

“Ethan Coen and the team have filmed several of their movies in New Mexico, including ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ and ‘Burn After Reading,’ ” Dodson said. “Drawn to the state’s competitive incentives, unique landscapes, and skilled crews, acclaimed films such as these create high-paying jobs for residents, support local businesses, and market New Mexico as a premier production hub to worldwide audiences.”
