Essential Overland Gear: Pencil, felt-tip pen
Pencils and pens are stored in a visor holder.
Even in the outdoors, having the proper writing utensil can be crucial.
A felt-tip pen won’t write over water, but a pencil will, even in Guam, according to a journalist who worked on the Pacific Island.
So always have a pencil handy to fill out camping envelopes or take notes on your adventure.
A felt-tip pen is handy when you’ve been bitten by a mystery bug or a rash suddenly appears on a body part. You can circle the bite or rash to monitor how fast it grows as you decide whether to seek treatment.
You can also draw nice pictures and mark your maps.
Happy adventuring.
