It’s been a goal of Lennon Kloser to perform at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe.

After years of manifesting, the dream will become a reality on Sunday, Feb. 25.

“It’s going to be amazing,” says Kloser, who is known on stage as Kid Bloom. “The new music I’m putting out really lends itself to a venue like Meow Wolf. I’ve heard so much about it from my friends that I’m excited it’s finally happening.”

Kloser is releasing the first half of “Inner Light” on Feb. 21, and expects the other half to be released later this year. He will perform at Meow Wolf at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. RMR will open.

He says the process behind the new music is very interesting.

“I wrote like three albums in the past year,” he says. “I put out the first one. Then the second one, we trashed it and started over. I wanted to give up. I met this guy, Kane (Richotte), and he completely changed my music. Nothing leaves the project without his hands physically touching it. It completely changed it.”

Kloser waited his whole life to write a record like “Inner Light.”

“Realistically, we wrote the entire album in two months,” he says. “In the span of two months, it’s written, recorded and being put out. Because the music is coming out so easily, it feels good. Of course there was a time constraint as we wanted to put it out in the first part of the year.”

Lennon Kloser, known as Kid Bloom, will perform at Meow Wolf on Sunday, Feb. 25. He is touring in support of the album, “Inner Light.”

Kloser began releasing music as Kid Bloom in 2016.

“Inner Light” marks the follow up to 2023’s “Shaky Knees EP” which featured the singles “Walk With Me” and “Sparkle,” with the former quickly surpassing 1.5 million total streams to date. While last year’s EP nodded to formative inspirations such as Frank Ocean and Hall and Oates, with “Inner Light,” Kloser found himself drawn to more weird stuff, in an effort to sound completely off the mark of whatever it is that he’d already done.

“This time, I’m really looking in and wondering what that sound is that I am,” he says. “Kane co-wrote everything with me. He’s worked with Portugal. The Man. I have to give him so much credit because we recorded everything live in the studio.”

Because recording took place in a live setting, Kloser says the transition from recorded music to a live performance has been easy.

“The best thing we could have ever done on this record is do it live because it pushed us into a different way of playing it,” he says. “I’m really proud about this record. We found a pocket where it all makes sense.”

Kloser says the new music has added more fuel to the fire and performing has a new element to it.

“The new songs have ignited something in me,” he says. “Now it feels impossible to get to playing the old songs. The new ones feel so right and it allows me to be myself. It’s really just easy. It should be fun when I step on the stage. I’ve seen the changes in my writing and it’s a whole new chapter to the journey.”

Kloser is hoping to find some time to see some of the sites in New Mexico — especially Albuquerque.

“ ‘Breaking Bad,’ ” he says. “That is such a good show. I love how the city became a character throughout the entire series. I’d love to see some of those places.”
