Mildred Griffee, a member of the Albuquerque Bear Canyon Senior Center Fishing Club, caught a 20.5-inch rainbow trout at Eagle Nest Lake using PowerBait on May 6.

Lilly Balderrama of Albuquerque caught a 16-inch rainbow trout at Morphy Lake using Joel-O-Shotz Red Floating Sweet Hartzy floating bait on May 10.

Lowell Smith of Paraje caught a 4.8-pound, 5-pound and 6.8-pound carp at Heron Lake fishing with JBT Hare Rigs with Boilie Bait on May 10.

Patrick Stafford of Las Cruces caught a 4.5-pound catfish at Lake Roberts using PowerBait on May 11.

Grayson, 6, caught a 20-inch largemouth bass at Carlsbad Municipal Lake using a live minnow on May 6.

Isaiah Rodriguez of Clovis caught a 14-pound, 9-ounce catfish at Oasis Park Lake using frozen blackberries on May 1.

Fishing for trout at Cabresto Lake was good using bead-head nymph flies.

Charette Lakes had no reports from anglers this week.

Streamflow on the Cimarron River near Cimarron on Monday morning was 30 cubic feet per second (cfs). Fishing for trout was fair using worms and bead-head, mayfly-pattern nymph flies.

Fishing for trout at Clayton Lake was good using Colorado Spoons and various types of PowerBait.

Fishing for smallmouth bass at Conchas Lake was good using white curly-tail grubs, white fluke lures and green tube baits. Fishing for walleye was good using spinnerbaits.

Costilla Creek had no reports from anglers this week.

Fishing for trout at Cowles Ponds was good using salmon eggs.

Coyote Creek had no reports from anglers this week.

Eagle Nest Lake is open to fishing and boating. Fishing for trout was good when trolling using Panther Martin spinners, red-and-white Dardevle Spoons and Garlic PowerBait. Fishing for pike was slow to fair using red-and-white Dardevle spoons and red-and-black Bucktail Streamer flies. Streamflow on the Pecos River near Pecos on Monday morning was 197 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using worms, garlic-scented shrimp bait, Panther Martin spinners and Woolly Bugger flies.

Streamflow on the Red River below the Red River Hatchery on Monday morning was 70 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande below the Taos Junction Bridge on Monday morning was 995 cfs. Fishing for trout was slow to fair using nymph flies. Anglers reported high water levels and poor visibility due to runoff water from melting snow in the high country.

Streamflow on the Rio Hondo near Valdez on Monday morning was 43 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Mora near Terrero on Monday morning was 68 cfs.

The main lake water surface temperature was in the mid-60s and the water’s color was murky due to wind and rain.
