Samuel Gray, 13, of Los Lunas caught a 12-inch largemouth bass at Conchas Lake using a topwater popper on Sept. 29.

At Eagle Nest Lake, Grayson Bisagna and Coby Salas both of Albuquerque caught a 20-inch and 21-inch rainbow trout using worms and a green Pistol Pete spinner fly on Sept. 23. … Gavin Salas of Albuquerque caught a 23-inch rainbow trout using a black Woolly Bugger fly on Sept. 22.

Isaiah Jaramillo, 7, caught and released a 12-inch bass using a wacky-rigged worm and caught two trout, 12 and 14 inches, at Estancia Park Lake using Yellow Garlic PowerBait on Oct. 1.

Justin Kersting of Albuquerque caught and released a 33-pound flathead catfish on the Rio Grande using chicken soaked in grape Kool-Aid on Sept. 25.

Fishing for brook trout at Cabresto Lake was good using beadhead nymph flies.

Streamflow on the Cimarron River near Cimarron on Monday morning was 30 cubic feet per second (cfs). Fishing for trout was very good using San Juan Worm flies, live worms and salmon eggs. Fishing for trout at Gravel Pit Lakes was good using marshmallows, worms, Salmon Peach PowerBait and Yellow PowerBait.

Fishing for trout at Clayton Lake was good using PowerBait.

Fishing for bass at Conchas Lake was fair to good using topwater poppers.

Fishing for trout at Costilla Creek was good using ant-pattern flies and Prince Nymph flies.

Fishing for trout at Cowles Ponds was fair using dry flies in the evening.

Fishing for trout at Coyote Creek was fair to good using black dry flies and nymph flies.

Streamflow on the Red River below the Red River Hatchery on Monday morning was 53 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using worms and dry-dropper fly setups.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande below the Taos Junction Bridge on Monday morning was 207 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using Panther Martin spinners, Rapala lures, black Woolly Bugger flies and white Streamer flies.

Streamflow on the Rio Hondo near Valdez on Monday morning was 14 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Mora near Terrero on Monday morning was 9 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Pueblo near Peñasco on Monday morning was 16 cfs.

Streamflow on the Animas River below Aztec on Monday morning was 182 cfs.

Fishing for tiger muskie at Bluewater Lake was fair to good using raw shrimp.

Fishing for trout at Canjilon Lakes was very good using dry flies and San Juan worm flies.

Streamflow on the Rio Chama below El Vado Lake on Monday morning was 87 cfs; streamflow below Abiquiú Lake on Monday morning was 1,250 cfs. Fishing for trout below El Vado Lake was fair to good using Rapala lurs and spinners. Please remember, from the river-crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiquiú upstream 7 miles to the base of Abiquiú Dam is special trout waters with a bag limit of two trout only.
