1The next generation
The Santa Fe Opera is bringing its Young Voices Holiday Concerts to stage for three nights. First head to BODY of Santa Fe, 333 W Cordova Road, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, to hear the group carol during the “Sip and Shop” event. Then at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, The Young Voices will sing at the Placitas Community Library, 453 Hwy 165, Placitas, for the Tri-Holiday Open House. Finally, on Wednesday, Dec. 13, the group will be joined by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale at the Southside Library, 6599 Jaguar Drive, Santa Fe, at 5:30 p.m., for a caroling performance. 2Farolito fun
The Jemez Historic Site hosting two nights of the Lights of Gisewa. The site will be aglow with farolitos from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9. Tickets are timed-entry and run $10-$20, at my.nmculture.org. The Jemez Historic Site is located on NM Highway 4, just north of Jemez Springs.
3Holiday cheer
The ABQ Civic Chorus will be performing a free holiday concert at the Rudolfo Anaya North Valley Library, 7704 Second St. NW B, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.
4Life’s a circus
The Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland is coming to Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino, 30 Buffalo Thunder Trail, Santa Fe. Enjoy acrobats, aerialists and hijinks during his holiday-themed performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Tickets are $49-$69, plus fees, at holdmyticket.com.
5‘You’ll shoot your eye out!’
The Guild Cinema triple-dog-dares you to come out at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, for a screening of “A Christmas Story.” Tickets for the holiday classic are $12, plus fees, at holdmyticket.com. The Guild is located at 3405 Central Ave. NE.

6‘Seventy-six Trombones’
Head to River City and catch the final shows of “The Music Man” at UNM’s Rodey Theatre. Strike up the band at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Tickets are $21-$24, plus fees, popejoypresents.evenue.net. Rodey Theatre is located on the UNM campus.
7Celebration in Socorro
The city of Socorro is hosting a trio of holiday events on Saturday, Dec. 9. The 9th annual Socorro Fire Department Mantanza will kick off at 4 p.m. at the city’s Historic Plaza. Then, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. enjoy the plaza aglow with luminarias. Finally, the Holiday Electric Light Parade will make its way to the plaza from Sedillo Park, southbound on California Street, to the plaza at 6 p.m.
