Jada Yuan will discuss her new book 'Unleashing Oppenheimer' at Collected Works on Dec.5
THREE EVENTS AT COLLECTED WORKS IN SANTA FE
Jada Yuan will discuss her new book “Unleashing Oppenheimer,” which takes the reader inside the making of Christopher Nolan’s Atomic Age film “Oppenheimer.” The event is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Collected Works Bookstore. The blockbuster film is about the physicist who headed the Manhattan Project in the development of the atomic bomb at Los Alamos.
The book’s publisher, Insight Editions, stated in a press release that Yuan’s book tracks the creation of the film from script to screen through exclusive interviews with the director, and members of true cast and crew plus visuals from the film.
At the event, Yuan will be in conversation with Jacques Paisner, artistic director of the Santa Fe International Film Festival. Yuan, who was born in Los Alamos, is a staff writer for The Washington Post.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, Collected Works will host a birthday celebration/literary retrospective for Albuquerque’s Margaret Randall — a poet, feminist, photographer, oral historian and social activist. At the event, eight of Randall’s friends will read from her work. The readers are V.B. Price, Greg Smith, Lauren Camp, Billie Parker, Zach Hively, Sylvia Dorado, Michelle Otero and Yesi Llerenas Daniel.
Lisa Lucas and Debrianna Mansini will chat about their new book “That Time We Ate Our Feelings: 150 Recipes for Comfort Food from the Heart” at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
Collected Works is at 202 Galisteo St., Santa Fe.
