Learn to fish with NMDGF

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish wants to help you get hooked on fishing.

The department is hosting a beginner warm-water fishing workshop in Albuquerque and Roswell. The class is aimed toward adults over 18 who have limited fishing experience. Participants will learn about casting, identifying fish, equipment and gear, knot tying, fishing techniques, and rules and regulations. No fishing will be involved, but participants will learn necessary skills to catch black bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, walleye, white bass and yellow perch.

The Albuquerque class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Albuquerque Game and Fish office, 7816 Alamo Road NW.

The Roswell class registration opens at 8 a.m. Monday, April 14. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Roswell Game and Fish office, 1615 West College Blvd., in Roswell.
