Let's talk turkey: Several area restaurants are doing the Thanksgiving cooking for you

Creating a Thanksgiving feast can be overwhelming so local restaurants and catering services are taking the hassle out of the holiday by preparing decadent spreads for you. There are several options whether you are looking to dine-in, pick-up and reheat at home, or have it delivered to your door.

Sit down, relax, and be served from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at Indian Pueblo Kitchen inside the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 2401 12th St. NW. The restaurant will offer its regular menu plus a special Thanksgiving feast menu. Featured items include rosemary roasted turkey with all of the trimmings ($28), roasted prime rib with red skin mashed potatoes and red chile gravy ($37), pumpkin French toast with cranberry compote ($16), pumpkin mousse ($7), and pecan pie with candied pecans ($7). Join Level 5 inside Hotel Chaco, 2000 Bellamah Ave. NW, for an enticing Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23. Start with crispy winter squash salad or pollo guisado soup, followed by green chile agave glazed all-natural turkey accompanied by local herbed brown gravy, pickled cranberry sauce, whipped organic potatoes, haricot verts, toasted garlic and almonds, and traditional stuffing; or Maldon salt and cracked black pepper crusted prime rib with twice cooked potatoes, caramelized corn, grilled tomato, and a Chimayó red chile demi-glace. Conclude the meal with either a traditional pumpkin pie or chocolate mousse cake. The dinner is $64 per person plus tax and gratuity. The Downs Racetrack & Casino, 145 Louisiana Blvd. NE, is reopening its fine dining space, The Crown Room, for one day for its Thanksgiving Gourmet Dinner. The feast is $49.99 per person and will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23. French onion soup or a house salad with champagne vinaigrette are the first course options. For the main course, guests can choose from garlic herb butter roasted turkey with herb turkey gravy and uniquely prepared fixings; or roasted prime rib with red wine au jus, Boursin mashed potatoes or baked potato and honey glazed carrots. Patrons end the meal with a dessert of their choosing: spiced pumpkin cheesecake or chocolate mousse three-layer cake. Sandia Resort & Casino, 30 Rainbow Road NE, is offering special Turkey Day offerings on Thursday, Nov. 23, at four of its dining venues. The feast at Bien Shur Rooftop Restaurant is sold out, but diners can check for possible cancellations by calling 505-798-3920. The Council Room will have a roasted turkey breast dinner with mashed potatoes, herb cornbread dressing, sage gravy, vegetables, salad, and choice of dessert from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for $30 per person. Beginning at 11 a.m., Sandia Sports Bar will offer a roasted turkey breast special that includes green chile cheddar mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and dessert for $30 per person. At Mountainside restaurant, patrons can choose from a roasted turkey breast plate ($20), baked ham special ($20), or a combination of both ($25) served with fixings that include cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and green chile gravy from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Full menus are available at sandiacasino.com/dining/thanksgiving-specials-at-sandia.

Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel, 54 Jemez Canyon Dam Road, Santa Ana Pueblo, is offering a Thanksgiving Day special, beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at Juniper Steakhouse. It features cream of pumpkin soup, roasted turkey with gravy and stuffing, and chocolate pecan pie for $65 per person. Recommended reservations can be made at santaanastar.com/juniper-steakhouse. Several places have you covered if you prefer to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast at home. All you have to do is reheat and serve.

The Rolling Chef mobile kitchen will deliver a Thanksgiving meal package to your door on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The package includes your choice of carved turkey or glazed ham with bread, whipped potatoes, turkey gravy, green bean casserole, classic stuffing, cranberry supreme, salad, chopped green chile, red chile gravy, candied yams, and a baked pie. The meal, which serves between four to six people, includes a four-pound roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with homemade seasonings and butter, red chile, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry relish, salad, baked rolls and pumpkin pie.
