Paul McCartney is coming to Albuquerque; here are the show details
Paul McCartney performs at the Glastonbury Festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset, England, on June 25, 2022.
For the first time, Paul McCartney will be performing in the Albuquerque area.
The former Beatle will bring his "Got Back" tour to Isleta Amphitheater on Oct. 7. The New Mexico performance will be his third stop on a 19-date tour across the United States and Canada. He will also be performing in Palm Springs, California, for the first time.
McCartney, 83, is a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once with the Beatles and once as a solo artist. A winner of 19 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and a Primetime Emmy, he has written or co-written 32 Billboard Hot 100 hits and is considered one of the most influential musicians of all time.
McCartney has performed once before in New Mexico, in April 1993 at Aggie Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces. He also made news when he visited New Mexico as a tourist in 2008 with his then-girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, making stops in Tucumcari, Santa Fe and Gallup. But he did not perform in the state at that time. The couple married in 2011.
The set list for his "Got Back" concert will span McCartney's entire discography, including songs from The Beatles, Wings and solo hits. "Got Back" is a play on "Get Back," the No. 1 hit single McCartney co-wrote with John Lennon and Billy Preston in 1969.
The presale and VIP packages will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, and the general sale will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, on ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.
As of Thursday afternoon, McCartney tickets for the Isleta show purportedly available via secondary ticket marketplaces are going for $350 for a spot on the lawn to as high as $10,000 a seat in the front row. Prices are often inflated on secondary ticket marketplaces. Also, tickets purchased via secondary ticket marketplaces may not be as secure as tickets purchased through a venue's or tour's preferred ticket vendor.
