Peter McPoland makes debut stop at Meow Wolf
Peter McPoland is making a tour stop at Meow Wolf’s “House of Eternal Return” on Monday, Nov. 17.
Peter McPoland’s “Big Lucky Tour” is entering another dimension as the performer makes his first ever stop at Meow Wolf’s “House of Eternal Return.”
“I’ve like heard people whisper about this venue as I’ve toured over the years, it’s become like this myth everyone’s like, ‘Have you done Meow Wolf yet?’” McPoland said.
“I’m super excited.”
The singer-songwriter will perform at Meow Wolf on Monday, Nov. 17.
He said a wave of joy come over him when he is in the area.
“It’s a very beautiful time of the year, and it’s a very beautiful state,” McPoland said about New Mexico. “I’m really excited, like, I really have nothing but joy.”
The tour kicked off Nov. 3 and McPoland said he and his band were spending hours practicing prior to heading out on the road. He said he wanted to hit a balance of heaviness and lightness with the show set.
“I’ve been trying to perfect this set with the entirety of my heart,” McPoland said.
McPoland released his newest album, “Big Lucky,” on Sept. 26 and has been excited to build a show around it.
“Every song kind of has its moment, and I think there’s the way that I’m structuring it,” McPoland said, “and the way that’s exciting to do it is that if the song can’t hold up against the one next to it, if each one is not as good as the other one, it gets cut.”
He said with the release of his album “Piggy” in 2023, he felt he had put out something that not everyone has listened to. So seeing the reception of this album and tour has been nice.
“I think when you’re growing up and you want to be a musician, you’re lying in your bed at night and you’re trying to imagine what it would look like to play for an audience,” McPoland said, “you can’t really quite grasp your head around it.”
Now that he is doing the real thing, McPoland said it is magical.
McPoland said the fans are the best part of the tour.
“When it’s a show, when it’s an audience, me on the stage, there’s nothing I like more,” McPoland said. “There’s absolutely nothing in my life that I like more truly.”
