Around this time of year, I’m over summer. I know, it’s a hot take to dislike summertime. But this weekend you can find a bit of Christmas at the Albuquerque Garden Center. Or check out one of these other cool options.

Fusion Theatre Company is staging “not LOST but FOUND in TRANSLATION,” a weaving of personal histories recounting strength and connections within challenging times. The production is in conjunction with “Light, Space, and the Shape of Time” at the Albuquerque Museum. The curtain raises at 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Fusion | 708, 708 First St. NW; and 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the Albuquerque Museum, 2000 Mountain Road NW. Tickets are pay what you wish at Fusion, fusionnm.org, and free for the Albuquerque Museum performances.

Road show

The historic Hubbell Trading Post is coming to the Petroglyph National Monument from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20. The show features handcrafted rugs and jewelry, along with weaving demonstrations and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. rug talks. The event is free. The Petroglyph National Monument information center is located at 6510 Western Trail NW.

Sounds of summer

Summerfest on Route 66 is getting its kicks from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, July 19. The free event features music from Ozomatli, Box Canyon Barbies, Levi Platero and more on four stages. Food and business vendors will also be on hand for those wishing to snack or shop. Summerfest is located on Central Avenue between Girard Boulevard and Washington Street.

Thank goodness

First Presbyterian Church is hosting an evening of music on Friday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy the works of Joseph Haydn, Sharon Willis and more, featuring Jan McDonald on trumpet and Linda Raney on organ. The TGIF concert event is free. First Presbyterian Church is located at 208 Grant Ave. in Santa Fe.

Wild thing

Catch a screening of “The Wild Robot” at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts, 9717 Indian School Road NE. The Movies in the Park event is free.

Time to wake up

Teatro Paraguas is bringing “Waking Up,” a world premiere event, to the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, with repeats through July 27. The comedy crashes through wakes and funerals while finding the “quixotic vicissitudes of love.” Tickets are $15-$25, plus fees, at teatroparaguasnm.org. Teatro Paraguas is located at 3205 Calle Marie in Santa Fe.

Some red with your green

The Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs is bringing you the “Christmas in July” flower show from 1-4 p.m. Friday, July 18, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Joining the festivities on Saturday is the big elf himself, Santa Claus, from noon to 3 p.m. with cookies and juice. The Albuquerque Garden Center is located at 10120 Lomas Blvd. NE.
