Love love apples?
The 2025 Albuquerque Tomato Fiesta is coming to the Albuquerque Garden Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. Enjoy tomato tasting, seminars, kids’ activities and more. Admission is $5 at abqtomatofiesta.com, with kids under 12 free. The Albuquerque Garden Center is located at 10120 Lomas Blvd. NE.
Happy harvest
The Mariposa Harvest Festival is returning from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The event will feature vendors, food trucks, local artists, live music and more. Mariposa Community Park is located at 2501 Parkway Ave. in Rio Rancho.
Silver anniversary
The Bernalillo County Open Space is celebrating 25 years with a concert series highlighting the many sites it manages. Up this month, the Henry “Kiki" Saavedra Community Center where The WesternHers will perform at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The event is free and concertgoers can register their spot at ampconcerts.org. The community center is located at 201 Prosperity Ave. SE.
Double debut
Levi Platero and Chris Dracup: Funk of the West coming to the KiMo Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, for a double CD release party. Tickets are $17-$33 at ampconcerts.org. The KiMo is located at 423 Central Ave. NW.
Wax on
The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is bringing you “Movie Under the Wings” on Saturday, Aug. 23. Doors open at 7 p.m. with “Night at the Museum” starting at dusk. The event is included with museum admission, $12-$22 at nuclearmuseum.org. The museum is located at 601 Eubank Blvd. SE.
All the small things
The Open Space Visitor Center is hosting “Small Worlds,” an exhibit by Tara Armijo-Prewitt, opening Saturday, Aug. 23, and running through Oct. 11. Take a look at the insects of New Mexico captured in up close photographs. The opening event is Saturday from 2-4 p.m. The visitor center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW.
‘Come On Eileen’
Ska band Save Ferris will be joined by Rocksteady Pickups and No Manners at the Sunshine Theater at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Tickets are $28.50-$83 at holdmyticket.com. Sunshine Theater is located at 120 Central Ave. SW.
