2 people killed in separate crashes in Albuquerque overnight
Two people were killed in separate crashes about four hours apart overnight in Albuquerque.
Police did not identify the drivers who died, and both crashes remain under investigation.
The first incident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday at Montgomery and Jefferson NE. Based on the preliminary investigation, a Kia Sportage sport utility vehicle was going west on Montgomery, through Jefferson, when an eastbound Scion tC turned left at the intersection and was T-boned, the Albuquerque Police Department said in a news release.
"The driver of the Kia Sportage was transported to the hospital and was in stable condition," APD said. "The driver of the Scion tC was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel."
Around 1 a.m. Friday, the second crash occurred at Eubank and Spain NE.
APD said a Hyundai Elantra was headed north on Eubank and going through Spain when a westbound Toyota Camry hit it in the intersection.
The driver of the Camry died at the scene, while the Hyundai driver was taken to a hospital in stable condition, APD said.
No other details on the crashes were immediately provided.
