APS elementary student brings toy gun to school, facing disciplinary action
An elementary school student is facing disciplinary action after bringing a toy gun to a school in the North Valley on Monday.
A letter sent to parents at Griegos Elementary said the toy the student brought to school resembled a rifle and urged parents to review the district handbook that "outlines the items that are strictly prohibited on school property."
The letter says that “staff reacted swiftly to address the situation” and called the incident concerning.
The district would not be commenting on the event further than the letter, according to Albuquerque Public Schools spokesperson Martin Salazar.
