The Albuquerque Public Schools will host an event Monday to allow parents and guardians to register their children for kindergarten and learn about programming for those students.

The APS Kindergarten Roundup is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center, 3315 Louisiana NE, according to a district news release.

The event will include "a mock kindergarten classroom" and elementary school representatives, curriculum vendors and APS officials on hand to answer parents' and guardians' questions, the release said.

The event will offer hands-on activities for kindergartners, who will receive a free book to kickstart their educational journey, the district said.

Multilingual support and comprehensive resources will be available to families.

Monday will mark the kindergarten roundup's second installment, which was held last week at Valley High School.
