State regulators recall cannabis products containing pesticide

”Nightmare Cookies” indeed.

The state has recalled several branded doobies and cannabis flower, containing that strain and others, after reportedly finding high levels of a pesticide in the products.

The New Mexico Cannabis Control Division issued an advisory Wednesday that spinosyn “exceeding legal limits” was found in Drool 2-gram blunts with the strains Nightmare Cookies, Wedding Punch, Rainbow Dream, Blue Dream and the Stone Road-brand 14 gram RYO Forbidden Star Fruit.

Officials said the products had been distributed to dozens of cannabis dispensaries across New Mexico.

“No health-related complaints have been reported to the CCD in connection to this recall,” according to a release.

Officials said buyers should review the product list to see if they purchased a contaminated product.

“If so, they are advised to destroy it or return it to the retailer for proper disposal,” the release states.

Officials said anyone with health-related concerns associated with the recalled products should contact the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center at 1-800-222-1222 or consult their health care provider.
