BCSO investigates two deaths in Cedar Crest as 'homicide'

Two people were found dead inside a Cedar Crest home on Sunday morning.
At 4:55 a.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for a welfare check on Mulberry Loop.
When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of Jesse Howser, 29, and Ashley Lopez, 34, BCSO spokesperson Connor Otero said.
“Due to evidence of apparent trauma, the incident is being investigated as a homicide,” he said. “At this time, there is no known threat to the community related to this incident. The investigation remains ongoing.”
