Bernalillo County deputies fatally shoot person in North Valley

Deputies shot and killed a person during a confrontation Saturday night in the North Valley.
Jayme Gonzales, a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said the person died at the scene and no deputies were injured.
Gonzales did not say if the person was armed, how many deputies opened fire or what led to the shooting.
She said BCSO responded around 8:45 p.m. to the 6000 block of Second NW, north of Montaño, but did not say why they were dispatched to the area.
Gonzales said “during the incident” deputies shot a person and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other details were given.
