The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the death of an unidentified bicyclist who was hit by a bus in Northwest Albuquerque on Saturday night.

Just before 10 p.m., APD's Fatal Crash Unit responded to a call of a crash involving a bicyclist in the area of Mountain Road and 11th Street NW.

Investigators learned that a coach bus was heading east on Mountain when a man on an electric bicycle went north past a stop sign on 11th and rode into the moving bus. The man died at the scene, APD spokesperson Rebecca Atkins said in a news release.

The bus was going the speed limit and the driver showed no signs of impairment, she said.
