City seeking artists' entries for Junk Jogging event shirt designs
The city's Solid Waste Management Department is seeking t-shirt design entries for its Junk Jog event, a part of its Keep Albuquerque Beautiful program.
The Junk Jog event — scheduled for Oct. 28 — combines jogging and picking up litter, or "plogging," a news release said, and it aims to help clean up the Bosque.
“Keeping our City and Bosque clean is a One Albuquerque effort,” said Billy Gallegos, interim director of SWMD. “As this event continues to grow every year, we are excited to offer this opportunity to the public. We can’t wait to see what they come up with to celebrate our volunteers and the spirit behind this event.”
Design entries are open to all ages, and must be one color and feature the words "Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and "Junk Jog."
Each artist is allowed two design entries.
The winning design will be selected after the contest closes Sept. 15.
The winning artist and participants in the Junk Jog event will each receive a t-shirt with the chosen design.
T-shirt designs can be submitted on the city's website.
