Fire breaks out at Hinkle Fun Center overnight
An overnight electrical fire damaged the Hinkle Fun Center in Northeast Albuquerque early Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the business, on Indian School NE just west of Tramway, around 2 a.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Jason Fejer said. Arriving crews found heavy smoke within the building.
"The fire was mostly contained to the bell tower on the east side of the structure," Fejer said in a news release. "There was water, smoke and fire damage on the inside of the structure in the area of the bell tower and fire damage in the area of the sign on the exterior."
There were no injuries reported from the fire, which was controlled in about 25 minutes, he said, adding that the fire was electrical in nature.
Hinkle Fun Center's Laser Tag building will remain open, the business said in a Facebook post.
"We are working hard on reopening the other Fun Center building as soon as possible," the post read.
