Bernalillo County has announced free swim Fridays across city pools July 21 through Augusts 4.

In addition, the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department has extended its sprinkler play sessions in parks across the city.

A full list of BernCo pools can be found here.

The sprinkler play sessions were originally a part of Operation Cooldown — the city's initiative to provide the city with options to beat the heat, such as extended splashpad hours, discounted and free pool admission as well as cooling centers across the city — but the city extended the sessions through this week as well.

“Join us for some good old-fashioned summer fun,” said Parks and Recreation Director Dave Simon in a statement. “We normally don’t run sprinklers during the day, but we have done such a great job at water conservation and Albuquerque has earned this opportunity to beat the heat!”

The sprinklers will be turned on from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday at various parks across the city.
