Los Padillas Aquatic Center closed through late summer
It may be the summer season, but swimmers in the Albuquerque metro area looking to take a dip will be down several pools until the middle of summer.
On Friday, Bernalillo County announced all county pools would be open, except for the Los Padillas and North Valley aquatic centers.
The Los Padillas Aquatic Center is expected to reopen before the Fourth of July and there will be no admission price for guests the rest of the season.
The North Valley Aquatics Center will remain closed until construction is completed. Sunport Pool, one of seven city pools, is also closed for repairs and will not be open this summer.
The Los Padillas pool is going through renovations, including new pumps, plaster, lighting, leak repairs, and improvements to the chemical and filtration systems, which will bring the pool up to modern standards and extend its lifespan, the county wrote in a statement.
