Man fatally shot near Santa Fe Plaza; unclear if there are any suspects

A man was found dead with at least one gunshot wound near Santa Fe Plaza on Monday, Santa Fe Deputy Chief Ben Valdez said in a news release.
It is unclear if there are any suspects.
At about 3:30 a.m., the Santa Fe Police Department responded to a call of a shooting near Water Street and Don Gaspar Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the man who was pronounced dead at the scene, Valdez said.
The man's name is not being released until his next of kin have been notified, he said.
"Detectives are currently working the scene," Valdez said. "There are no threats to the community. This is an active investigation. More information will be released at a later time as the investigation permits."
