One dead, three injured after house party shooting in Las Cruces

The Las Cruces Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance after a man was killed and three others were injured during a shooting at a party on Saturday night.

Police did not release the man’s identity.

At 11:46 p.m., police responded to a call of multiple gunshots at a large gathering in the 2400 block of Bugatti Drive, near Interstate 25.

When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man who “had been shot at least once.” He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Las Cruces police news release. Three other people were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions were not released, police said.

“Detectives learned that several people attending the party were seen recording the incident on their cell phones,” the news release states. “Investigators believe those videos could be critical in identifying suspects and understanding what led to the shooting.”

Police said anyone who captured video or has information about the incident should call 575-526-0795. Video uploads can be submitted online.
