One person is in the hospital and another is detained after a shooting Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Coronado Center.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said there is no active threat in the area.

He said officers responded sometime before 2:30 p.m. to a shooting in the parking lot of the mall, at Louisiana and Menaul NE.

Gallegos said police found a person who had been shot and was treated on scene before going to the hospital. He said officers also found a suspect "matching the description provided by witnesses."

Officers have a suspect detained and there are no other suspects, Gallegos said.

"Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are starting an investigation into the shooting," he said.
