Person killed in fatal crash off I-40 westbound near San Mateo
A fatal crash on westbound Interstate 40 near San Mateo Boulevard has caused traffic to be at a standstill on Tuesday afternoon.

Interstate 40 westbound between San Mateo and Carlisle boulevards was closed for hours after a fatal crash that killed one person, NMSP spokesperson Amanda Richards said.
Police will not release their identity until their next of kin have been notified, she said.
The cause is still under investigation, Richards said.
