Police investigate death of infant in NW Albuquerque

Published Modified

As of Monday afternoon, no charges have been filed in the death of a 1-month-old infant over the weekend.

At around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive infant inside a home in the 7600 block of Briar Ridge NW, near Paseo del Norte.

First responders unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures on the infant, APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said.

The Office of the Medical Investigator did not determine a cause of death following autopsy, he said.

"Additional tests will be done," Gallegos said.
