Police are investigating after a man was found dead in Southeast Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said police responded sometime before 5:30 a.m. Friday after receiving a report that a man with a gunshot wound was dead in the parking lot of the Warren Sandia apartments, near Louisiana and Gibson.

"First responders confirmed the man was deceased," Gallegos wrote in the release.

Homicide detectives are investigating. Gallegos did not give additional details and said more information would be released at a later time.
