Albuquerque police investigate a homicide Tuesday evening in the 300 block of Rhode Island NE.

Police are investigating a homicide that left one person dead in an East Central neighborhood.
Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said on Tuesday police responded sometime before 4 p.m. to a death at a home near Rhode Island and Copper NE.
Gallegos did not say how the person died or give anymore details. He said more information would be released at a later time.
Members of the New Mexico National Guard at the scene, who have been assisting APD over the past several months, would not provide additional details.
Crime scene tape cordoned off the 300 block of Rhode Island NE. Outside the tape, a family hung around near their home, as law enforcement vehicles lined up and down the block.
