'Tis the treecycling season

Christmastime has come and gone and new year has been rung in.
But there might be one more holiday task left to complete: recycling the Christmas tree.
The city's Solid Waste Management Department, Parks and Recreation and Public Service Co. of New Mexico are working together to offer people a free way to dispose of their Christmas trees. The event runs through Jan. 11.
People can drop their trees off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Eagle Rock Convenience Center, 6301 Eagle Rock NE.
- Ladera Golf Course, 3401 Ladera NW.
- Montessa Park Convenience Center, 3512 Los Picaros SE (closed Thursday and Friday).
Crews will grind the trees into mulch, which will be available for free while supplies last. Remember to remove all decorations, lights or other objects from the trees. There is a five-tree limit per resident and the service isn't for commercial customers.
